The emails with invitation to complete the Supplementary Application go out weekly. After you receive your acknowledgement email with your student centre login details, it can take up to 8 business days for you to receive your invitation. If you have not received your invitation within 8 business days after your acknowledgement email, please reach out to suppapp@queensu.ca.
The deadline to submit your Supplementary Application for Fall term is February 15 at 11:59 pm ET.
The deadline to submit your Supplementary Application for Winter Entry is October 15 at 11:59 pm ET.
The deadline to submit your Supplementary Application as an upper-year applicant is June 15 at 11:59 pm ET.
For the Health Sciences and Nursing Supplementary Application, you will have 10 minutes to complete your written response and submit it. There is a 335 word limit on the written response.
For the Commerce Supplementary Application, you will have 15 minutes to complete your written response and submit it. You will have 5 minutes to complete part A of the written response and 10 minutes to complete part B of the written response. There is a 335-word limit on the written response.
For Commerce, Health Sciences, and Nursing, you will have 2 minutes to prepare and 2 minutes to deliver your answer for the video response.

Yes, you can practice before you begin the official application. In fact, the practice is a mandatory component of the check-in process and is intended to give you an opportunity to get comfortable with the platform. The practice questions are not part of the official application so you can complete the practice questions as many times as you want. They will not be part of your assessment.
You will complete the written response first, and then the video response.
Kira Talent does not recommend the use of third-party extensions while completing the Supplementary Application, as these can cause technical issues with the platform.
Yes, you will complete a Supplementary Application for each program that you apply to that requires a Supplementary Application.
You will receive a confirmation email indicating that your Supplementary Application is complete. You can keep this for your records. Your SOLUS to-do list will update within 8 business days once you have completed your Supplementary Application.
No, we will not share the questions ahead of time and each applicant will receive their questions at random. We strongly encourage you to review the evaluation criteria to get a better understanding of our expectations.
It takes several individuals to complete the review of the Supplementary Applications. There are review teams from Commerce, Health Sciences, and Nursing, and staff from Undergraduate Admission and Recruitment who review and score the Supplementary Application.
It is very important. The Supplementary Application is one mandatory part of the assessment of your application to Commerce, Health Sciences, or Nursing. It is also important to ensure you understand the for these programs based on the curriculum you are studying.
We receive a high volume of applications to the Commerce, Health Sciences, and Nursing programs and it takes a significant amount of time to review and score the Supplementary Application. It is also important to remember that the Supplementary Application is one mandatory piece of your entire application. There are , and there may be other items to complete on your To Do List. We aim to communicate all decisions to our applicants by mid-May. If you have questions about the admission requirements, or items on your To Do List, please reach out to us at admission@queensu.ca.
We recommend that you complete the Supplementary Application when you have the time to focus on it. It will take you about 30 minutes to complete so ensure you are somewhere you are alone, comfortable, and where you have a stable internet connection. To complete your registration in Kira Talent, you will be required to provide your Â鶹¹ÙÍø's student ID number.
If you applied through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) or the Common App, you will have received an acknowledgement email within 3-5 days of submitting your application that includes your 8-digit student ID (e.g., 20101234). This is the number you will enter in the Kira system when prompted.
If you applied through the Â鶹¹ÙÍø's International Application Portal, you can find your 10-digit application number (e.g., 0000001234) in the My Applications tab of your account. This is the number you will enter in the Kira system when prompted.
