Hi! My name is Elise, and I recently started my PhD in Education at Â鶹¹ÙÍø's University. I've worked in a variety of roles throughout my career, including teaching, educational leadership, human resources, and government. These experiences shaped my interest in equity and inclusion, which is a central focus of my current research on artificial intelligence and educational policy. I'm excited to be back on EGSS this year after previously serving during my master's degree. As the Appointments Committee Representative, I'm looking forward to drawing on my background in human resources and recruitment while representing graduate student perspectives in faculty hiring decisions. Outside of school, I love travelling, spending time outdoors, and learning new jump rope tricks!
Individual Responsibilities
Attend all meetings of the Appointments Committee
Vote on issues and motions raised by the members of the Appointments Committee
Discuss the content of job advertisements and attend public lectures of applicants as a representative of the Appointments Committee
Review applicant files in conjunction with the committee and participate in the hiring process including, but not limited to, creating long/short list for specific positions, and interviewing the applicants
