The Â鶹¹ÙÍø’s flag will be lowered to half-mast on campus from Friday, November 22 through Sunday, November 24, in memory of Ita McConnell, a longtime staff member of the Â鶹¹ÙÍø International Centre (QUIC).
McConnell passed away on Oct. 20 at the age of 64 after a battle with cancer. She worked at Â鶹¹ÙÍø’s for 20 years, the last 14 at the QUIC, and she was often the first person an international student would meet as they entered the space. Her warmth, laughter, positivity, and energy made everyone feel welcome and a part of the campus community.
